Before You Submit

This blog post is a checklist of the things you should do, gather, and create before you submit your Engage Art submission. Submissions are due June 30, 2020 (an extended deadline!), but don’t procrastinate because it will take you some time to put together a complete and compelling submission.   • Engage Art App (Download, register, and use until winners are announced.)
    • Download Mobile App: Link to EA App
    • Register in Mobile App—Make note of your Username and password. To get credit for downloading the EA app, you MUST: 
      • use the same Username when you register in Submittable.
      • Take Survey in App. This is how the algorithm can choose Scripture that is most helpful to you.
      • Keep the app on your phone and active until the winners are announced in Fall 2020.
  • Register in Submittable: Register Here
    • Use the same Username as you did to register for the Engage Art App (and get up to a 30% bonus on your scoring!) and password.
    • Choose which type of art you will be submitting: Visual Art, Film, Music Video, or Performing Arts Video
    • Provide the Entrant and Team info
  • Entrant and Team Information
    • Review the Legal Document for the Contest (Legal Agreement)
    • If this is a team, who will be the legal Entrant? 
    • Gather information about the Entrant and Team
      • Email Address   
      • Phone Number
      • Mailing Address
      • Company/Organization (if applicable)
      • Website (if applicable)
      • Entrant/Artist Bio—get help on this in Module 5
      • Bio of Each Team Member—get help on this in Module 5
      • Credits for Each Team Member—get help on this in Module 5
      • Photo of Entrant and/or Team
      • Release Forms for Participants Under 18: Release Form

Artistic Submission

    • Title
    • Description of Work/Artist Statement—get help on this in Module 5
    • How Work Addresses Contest Topic—get help on this in Module 5

For Visual Art:

    • Genre/Medium—Module 5: Visual Art Evaluation Worksheet
    • Gather up to 5 images of ONE Work, 400mb/image file size limit jpg               in one of the following formats: jpg/jpeg, gif, tif/tiff, png, psd, ai, eps , svg
    • Dimensions—Height x Width x Depth? inches or cm?            
    • Does it include any words in a language other than English?            
      •  If yes, translation into English 
    • Credits, if applicable—get help on this in Module 5

For Film:

    • Genre/Medium—Module 5: Film Evaluation Worksheet
    • Film File: 400 mb file size limit, 5-minute time limit in one of the following formats: mp4, mov, avi, mpg, 3gp, flv, webm, wmv, mkv, m4v
    • Transcript, in English 
    • Does it include any words (spoken or written) in a language other than English? If yes:
      • Film version subtitled in English
      • Transcript in the original language
    • Online Link to Film, if available
    • Credits—get help on this in Module 5
    • Promo Art or Poster (optional)

For Music Video:

    • Genre/Medium—Module 5: Music Video Evaluation Worksheet
    • Music Video File: 400 mb file size limit, 5-minute time limit, in one of the following formats: mp4, mov, mpg, m4v
    • Transcript, in English 
    • Does it include any words (spoken, sung, or written) in a language other than English? If yes:
      • Video version subtitled in English
      • Transcript in the original language
    • Online Link(s) to Music Video, if available  
    • Credits—get help on this in Module 5
    • Promo Art, Cover Art or Poster (optional)

For Other Performing Arts (Not Music):

    • Genre/Medium  Module 5
    • Video File: 400 mb file size limit, 5 minute time limit, in one of the following formats: mp4, mov, mpg, mv4

    • Does it include any words (spoken, sung, or written) in a language other than English? If yes:
      • Video version subtitled in English
