Artist bio

I'm a visual artist with three children who loved drawing in my free time and sometimes watercolor painting at my young age. But I stop doing it because I got busy as a health care professional. But because of this event of yours, I realized to practice arts again and now I'm also studying basic photoshop to advance. Not applicable.

Artist Statement

In this piece of art, I use mixed media and I recycled the egg rack cover to include in my painting. To show that anything in our home that we use in our daily lives can be used again for other things. As I interpreted Ephesians 6: 10-20 about the armor of God I used my family as a symbol that reading the word of God together will increase the faith of each member. We can face and stand the spiritual battle in unity by the grace of God. Because we are part of one body in Christ Jesus. We are the church itself and not the building that we see. These scriptures in Ephesians give us hope and encouragement that God love's us so much and He will not abandon us nor forsake us. He is our refuge in times of trouble, fear, and uncertainties.

How it fits into contest

As we face these difficult times because of this pandemic, many people are losing hope, spiritually troubled, and feeling depressed. The economy of many countries is falling and families are lockdown in their house to avoid infection of the virus. There are so many negative effects of this pandemic but I realized that because of this pandemic many people turn back to God and my family becomes closer to Him.

I want to show in my painting that each person in this world has hope in God. It begins with my family because of the lockdown we can pray and worship together. We study the bible and memorize them. We attend virtual church and bible study. I want my children to grow in obedience and wisdom of God. In 2 Timothy 3:16 said that All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. We encourage our selves to read the bible every day as Joshua 1:8 said. I want to show in my painting that the Word of God gives wisdom and spiritual power. Ephesians 6:10-20 said that each one of us can stand against devil schemes, against rulers, authorities, powers of the dark world and spiritual forces of evil in heavenly realms if we put on the armor of God because our struggle is not against flesh and blood any more.

We receive the armor of God which are the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God if we continuously have faith in God and believe and accept that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Let’s pray unceasingly in one another.

Ephesians 6:10-20
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand virtual firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
