This idea of spiritual warfare had been in my head for a while and I wanted to express it in a visual way. This film focuses on how sometimes you're your own worst enemy, but it is the actual enemy: Satan that is inhabiting your head. Sometimes you have to kill a part of yourself, the demons, or you have to cut those things out of your life in order to grow closer to the Lord. This is really personal so there is a lot of weight to it. There is also a lot to unpack explaining my spiritual journey and this was a way of working through it. There is a reason why it is called spiritual warfare. There are battles to be won and lost. In this case, the battle was won only through Divine intervention.

I start out the video with scripture. The film can be interpreted also as that I'm using the armor of God. This piece is called "The Battle". It is a battle with me and my spiritual demons. Ephesians 6:13 states "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground..." The theme of my film is fighting your inner demons and standing your ground. This scripture also says "take your stand against the devil’s schemes. " In this piece I take a stand against the devil's schemes by fighting the good fight of faith.

When I was a child, I acted like a child. My young self did not understand faith initially. And so I started running. Blindly, but toward the God I just met. Then my own worst enemy stopped me cold. Only I had a new purpose.

A new mission. Stand. And fight. The enemy was still on my heels, but I was ready. Or so I thought. Sin weighed heavily on my soul and my enemy was clever. I couldn't fight, but I couldn't see. And so I failed time and again.

And when I was surrounded, and trapped with nothing left in myself. I found strength I had never felt before. I was calm and ready. And so I trusted in my faith. And won that day. My enemy had fallen.

I was relieved. But this fight is everlasting with no end until my last breath. And so I ran, but with a hand on my shoulder and a light to guide my path so I can stand and fight the good fight.
