I was quite nervous about the production of this video as it is my first official dance video by myself. In the making of this video complications arose, especially in the field of editing and time management. Despite these challenges, however, I am happy with the way it turned out and grateful for the experience.
Upon reading the scripture and pondering on it for a period of time my interpretations and inferences made were that in this world, there are many vessels of evil and ungodly sources that one may come across that will pose a threat to ones spiritual well-being and may even deter you from God. These things may take many forms and come in all shapes and sizes. Once you come into contact with these things, you should not be fearful or negatively impacted by them, but to face them head on, and not alone, but with the help of Jesus, He who died so that we could live. The bible says that we should cast our burdens on the Lord, and He shall sustain us; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved (Psalms 55:22). Therefore, going back to Ephesians 6:10-20 that speaks about the spiritual battle, I took from it that we, as God's children, should "put on the full armor of God", meaning that we must immerse ourselves and give ourselves to the Lord so that when we are faced with trying tribulations, with God on our side and in our hearts we will be able to defeat our oppressors by the grace of God.
I tried to portray and amplify all of this by the use of the music as well as the costume change and movement. In the beginning I am seen wearing a sparkly short black, blue and gold dress symbolizing someone not saved; someone who relies only on themselves and does not confide in the Lord. Initially, that person is going about life as usual, but then encounters trials that she tries to overcome on her own. Gradually, these trials become too much to bear and the person decides, after fighting but failing, as a last resort, to turn to the Lord in prayer casting her fears on to the Lord and repenting her sins. She then reappears in an all white costume symbolizing the new person that she becomes after devoting her life to Christ. This character is now able to face the trials that once troubled her head on with no hesitation because of this conversion. In the end, because of the Lord, she is able to overcome the evils disguised a trials after giving herself to the lord and not only grows as a believer but as a person overall.
