I wrote this spoken word about two years ago and had forgotten about it. But upon seeing your ad for the competition, it sparked some motivation. It turned out that what I wrote, fit this season we are in now. I hope you enjoy it!

This spoken word is like a wake-up call for believers and for non-believers to turn to Christ and be saved. The times that we are living in is known throughout the bible as the last days. The battle has intensified for us as believers and we need to maintain our focus on God whilst having on the whole armor!

I wanna first start by addressing this situation with scriptures as it really is

After glimpsing what's happening in different nations, we may question if God is seeing this.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says…

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Brothers, sisters, we are called by His name since we have Christ in us (Galations 2:20)

Don't act Christ-less in the presence of non-believers (Matthew 5:16)

Don't act Sinful in the absence of your fellow believers (Matthew 23:27)

Humility is step one to this achievement. (1 Peter 5:5)

We are to pray without ceasing, continue and not faint (1 Thessalonians 5:17 / Isaiah 40:31)

All sunshine makes a desert so thank God for the rain! (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

We're moving in opposite direction, no wonder we're losing the race (John 15:5)

We're searching for the answer in each other when we should be seeking God's face (1 Corinthians 2:10)

What makes us so distracted? Is it because we have to change? (Ezekiel 14:6)

Cut off certain people? Turn from our wicked ways? (Ezekiel 18:30)

How else will God forgive us? We're hating who we should have forgave. (Matthew 6:14)

It's a hard pill to swallow but we're the reason we're this way

#Awake!

We became complacent we're fighting an enemy that doesn't sleep

It's like we forget that flesh is front-ish! We can not act based on what we feel… (Matthew 13:15)

We want to see tongues of fire like in the old testament phase

If God has to heal our land, where is the oneness like on Pentecost's day (Acts 2:1 - 4)

Use this to decipher and filter out what I'm saying,

God is not the author of confusion; He is the author and finisher of our faith! (1 Corinthians 14:33 & Hebrews 12:2)

And without faith it is impossible to please him… (Hebrews 11:6)

How many times have we prayed and afterwards try to use reason

Come up with millions of points as to why it may not happen

We just cancelled that prayer no matter how long the duration… (Mark 11:24)

Get Up!!

Arise from your slumber, as you do so shake your neighbor, (Ephesians 5:14)

The church may be in darkness but our light is our savior (John 8:12)

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6:10 - 18)
