Artist bio

Art has been a passion of mine since very early in life (I can remember sitting inside drawing comic books while most other people were outside getting dirty and playing football).  During my second year of college I switched over to a graphic design major and I noticed how excited I was about the work and knew I was on the right track.  After studying design for over a year I switched over to the fine arts with a focus in illustration and painting and knew that was an even closer alignment to the type of work I wanted to be doing.  I fell in love with the process of taking an idea, being inspired by it, then working it out visually on paper and sharing it with others.  Since then I've continued to develop myself as an artist and consider it a huge part of who I am.  I love to communicate things like emotions, stories, and a wide spectrum of different concepts.  I tend to bounce back and forth between traditional and digital mediums when creating.  I consider myself proficient in drawing, watercolor, acrylic, and digital painting.  I wouldn't say any of these mediums is my favorite, I love having the freedom to cross between all of them.

Title

Archangel

Artist Statement

Archangel is a painting that explores more in depth a dream I had about spiritual warfare. This is an attempt by me to bring some of that dream to life through imagination and concept design. It also ties in to the broader theme of "spiritual warfare" presented throughout the Bible in books such as Ephesians, the book of Daniel, and so many more.
