My approach was the conception of two worlds, the background is a city, a very busy one, with the skyscrapers and zero landscaped, creating a realistic felling. And my foreground is the fight between two evil entity and in the center a human attach to a mechanical suit. My inspiration was pop cultural imagery and usual conceptions.

The bible reference said: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”

For me the “wrestle” means an equal battle in terms of powers and skills, so my character has the same power to be in the air like them.

The two evil entity are non-human character so they represent the idea of “spiritual wickedness” and “Principalities”. the hole fight is in the air represented the “high places”

And, the armor is represented by the mechanical suit, which for this era is the closest thing that we can imagine as a protective and offensive garment. At least in pop culture.
