Artist Statement

I got inspiration of this drawing from the COVID-19 pandemic. Viewing my artwork everyday reminds me how powerful God is in creating each one of us and that he has given us the gift of creativity. Viewing my artwork everyday reminds me also how powerful the Bible is, since it is considered the Book of Life. My drawings are derived from scriptures of the Bible. I used Staedtler colored pencils and Strathmore 9 in. x 12 in. drawing paper for this drawing.

How it fits into contest

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12.
When a stranger sojourns with you In your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
Leviticus 19:33-34.
Leviticus 19:33-34.
This drawing represents the coronavirus pandemic that is current today causing it to be a foreign place to reside. I used a red colored pencil for the nail shaped structure outside of the globe, that represents the coronavirus, and a green color pencil to represent the continents of Africa, South America, and Europe. The image of an alien and a human with a mask on inside the continent of Africa represents both feeling foreign in this world. Since the alien and the human with the mask on represents both feeling foreign in this world, the struggle does not lie within the both of them. The struggle lies with the alien and the human with the mask on living in a world plagued by the coronavirus.
