Artist Statement

My art-making motivation is the establishment of G-D in a soul.
Inspiration: the sacred inspired WORD of G-D.
While a beginner of Hebrew WORD studies , from commencement I realized the significance of order, patterns, appointed times, seasons, the mazzaroth, - the whole creation - all of the Universe - inextricably linked. It is all about G-D.
Every day I am awestruck of HIS design and diversity - especially in printmaking when gathering an assortment of delicate print material or using natural dye like beetroot and turmeric as print medium.
Cyanotype prints need the perfect paper able to survive more than 1 water bath, precision weighing and mixing of the chemicals and UV light free environment to prepare the ground. Childlike excitement and anticipation awaits the first drop of water to make the Cyan to Prussian blues appear. It is like a spiritual principal - the light shows the real color as well as every minute detail.
Prepared artwork (transparencies or negatives) are preceded with sifting through scripture, promptings, messages, images, etc. to tell a story of hope and in the process experiencing that hope!

How it fits into contest

Armed with E.SWORD, research into Ephesians 6: 10-20 revealed a strong focus on G-D as the warrior. YHWH shall arm us with HIS armor in a supernatural battle with spiritual armor which personifies HIM going before us, being with us during the battle and there at the end in Victory!

The upper part of the print depicts YESHUA the DIVINE WARRIOR with armor and battle descriptions.
The four symbols in the middle are:
Circle (a shield) - blood covenant between David and Jonathan (exchange of garment and armor)
Square - symbol of the ephod (to pray, inquire of the LORD)
Hebrew letters Aleph & Shin - (purification)
Bee hexagon - symbol of song of praise (Deborah & Barak)

[Background scripture in Hebrew: John 1: 1-5; Rev. 19:11-16; Kings 10:17; 1 Sam. 18; 3-4; Isa. 61: 8-11; Ex. 24:8; Eph. 6:10-20; 1 Sam. 30:1-6; Isa. 11:1-5; Num. 27:21; 1 Sam. 23: 1-6; Deut. 7: 19-24; Mal. 3:1-5; Zech. 13:9; Rom.13:13,14; Heb. 9:11-22; Jdg. 7:7-18; Jos. 6:2-5; Deut. 20: 1-4;
Ps. 98]

Victory songs praising G-D for giving victory before, during and after the battle fill the bottom part of the print flanked by Deborah's two palms.

[Background scripture in Hebrew: Isa. 42:10-13; Psalm 149; Ex. 15; Jdg. 5; 2 Sam. 22; Acts 16: 25-34; Rev. 5:9-14]

After all to stand - standing firm and strong with a purified garment.
