Artist bio

Rebecca Huff is from the Rocky Moutains of Montana, and has loved art her entire life. Though she’d been drawing since she could hold a pencil, she started painting prolifically in Acrylic when her daughter was an infant. About five years ago, she bravely made the switch to Oils and hasn’t looked back. She currently resides in North Carolina, where she happily pursues her love affair with water and all things nautical. She is very thrilled to have so many things to paint here in beautiful Eastern Carolina!

Artist Statement

Based on Ephesians 6:10-20. A friend said that it was too bad it wasn’t based on “ peace be still” , hence the storm. The rainbow is God’s promise. Isaiah says “ I will be with you... I will not let the waters overwhelm you”. The warrior is praying to God, hand raised in praise and surrender to God. The spindly oars show us that our strength is no match against the storms. My hope in Jesus is my anchor, He is my deliverance.

How it fits into contest

Completely biblically based. It’s all about the armor of God, as well as many other verses n themes.-
