In the painting, there is a girl and four hands around her.
Those hands all represent different temptations that I had and still face: greed, outside factors, internal conflict, and dreams.
The girl, who symbolizes me, is praying to God in the hope of living in the world as a righteous Christian.
The bright yellow and white colors represent my hope and will to live in the world as a follower of God and not of earthly things, despite the temptations.
I specifically focused on verse 18 of Ephesians 6: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."
As I mentioned in the artist statement, the four hands represent the temptations that I face in spiritual warfare.
However, those temptations are actually God's gifts when they are used properly, only in the presence of God.
With repentance, prayer, and keeping his commands in my mind, those temptations become true gifts and strengths for me to praise the Lord.
