Artist Statement

This piece gives an example of how persons try to seek intervention to be delivered form their addiction of smoking and alcohol to a point of humbling themselves out of frustration and the need to be free from its bondage.

How it fits into contest

This art work is about the spiritual battle because addiction is a stronghold which the enemy seeks to take control of a persons life. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. So when we surrender to God in prayer and put on the armor of God we are able to break free from the bondage of addiction.
