Every image I create I do so with the intent to convey a story or emotion and this piece is no different. I created it with passion and a dreamlike state of mind. Some of my images are darker and come from nightmares or personal struggles that I face— but nightmares are dreams too, and I enjoy showing that even in darkness we can find the beauty and light. My image for Engage goes more with my dreamlike photos that focus more on the light. "Stand in Faith" focuses on trusting in God and knowing that everything is going to turn out alright.
Ephesians 13 says " Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." Ephesians 16 states "in addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." A shield is an extension of ones armor, so I saw the armor of God as one's faith. This is portrayed by the model being shirtless with his arms back. He is open and willing to face the arrow (representing evil) flying at him because he knows that as long as he puts his faith forward he will be protected. White feathers are falling to represent an angels wing that is nearby to physically protect him from the approaching evil. The halo helps to portray his faith and that it is surrounding his every thought.
