The Engage Art North America contest will accept entries from June 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020. Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded in Fall 2020. At that time, we will announce future plans for Engage Art.

Our pilot program ran in North and South Carolina, USA, in 2018. We anticipate that future contests will invite international audiences to participate in Engage Art, one continent at a time.

Yes. The artwork you submit must be your own original work, created solely by you and your team. It may not be a copy of someone else’s work. It may not include material that is copyrightable by anyone else except as allowed under the “Fair Use Doctrine.” You are solely responsible for any copyright infringement. We reserve the right to request proof that your entry is your original artwork created solely by you.

If you use elements that are not your original work, you must have written permission from the copyright holder to use them for this purpose. For instance, if you make a video that tells a story, or a video of a dance, you will probably include some music.

Did you or a member of your team write and perform the music? If not, you need the permission of the copyright holder. There are several online sources for music that can be easily licensed or are free to use through the Creative Commons license, such as:

No. Each Entrant may submit up to one (1) entry in each of the four categories—visual art, music video, film, performing arts—for free.

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Ephesians 6:10-20 (NIV)

Jurying will be in two parts:

Phase 1 of the jurying will occur on a rolling basis as artworks are submitted. All artists with distinguished artworks will receive a page on the Engage Art site.

Part 2: Consider all “distinguished” artworks and rank them based on: …

Artists may enter one artwork in each of the categories. Each artwork is considered a separate entry. Engage Art reserves the right to cap the number of entries at a future date.
