Asunder

Nirvani Harriram is an artist, painter, and creative from Long Island, New York. After a five-year career in marketing and business development, she left the corporate path to become a full time artist in early 2019.

Harriram is passionate about wellness, healing, and mental health. Due to adolescent trauma, she struggled with depression and anxiety and was unable to make sense of moving forward. In 2012, she encountered and accepted the Gospel of Jesus and in time, she rediscovered her sense of purpose.

She uses art to work through complicated feelings and that comes through in her emotive portraits. The focus of her subjects is less about their own beauty but the hidden person of the heart, the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. She hopes to bring attention to art’s ability to soothe and release the soul and to share hope for restoration.

In spiritual warfare, we are caught between decisions of the flesh and the Spirit. We must choose to be lead by the flesh or by the Spirit; This in itself is a constant battle for believers. “Asunder” is based on Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
