We’re honored to welcome Jim Baker as the featured artist for this month’s Engage Art Bible Cluster.
Jim is a New Mexico based multimedia artist whose work brings Scripture into visual form through altered Bibles, sacred structures, and devotional art. With more than 40 years of experience in ministry, his practice is shaped by a deep engagement with biblical metaphor, symbol, and story. His work reflects the belief that Scripture is not only meant to be read, but also contemplated through the physical language of image, object, and form.
Best known for reclaiming and re-stitching antique Bibles into three dimensional works of sacred art, Jim creates pieces that invite worship, spiritual conversation, and renewed attention to the hidden meaning within Scripture. His Sacred Structures are rooted in the idea of re binding, restoring beauty, faith heritage, and visual witness through art.
Facilitated by Juan Iraheta, this gathering will be a meaningful evening of Scripture, creativity, and community as Jim shares his 2026 Engage Art Contest Honorable Mention work, “Sharper Than Any Double-Edged Sword,” and reflects on the symbols, stories, and spiritual truth that shape his process.
