My work explores storytelling through film, sound, and music as ways of revealing inner struggles that are often lived in silence. I create short films and audiovisual pieces that focus on emotional tension, vulnerability, and the search for meaning during moments of crisis. At the core of my work is the conviction that even in the deepest darkness, there is the possibility of light, direction, and restoration.
This short film tells the story of a young man overwhelmed by the pressures and problems of life, pushed to the edge of collapse. The narrative reflects a reality experienced by many people in silence: anxiety, fear, and the feeling of no longer being able to carry the weight. Rather than relying on spectacle, the film takes an intimate and honest approach, inviting the viewer into the character’s inner world. My creative process begins with observation and reflection. The production was intentionally simple and handmade. We filmed in a small improvised studio created in a living room, using a Sony A7III camera with a 50 mm lens and three bi-color LED lights. A simple cup of water became a central symbolic element within the story. Later, we moved to the nearest river in the province of Chiriquí to capture the water scenes, adding authenticity and a deeper connection to the natural environment. The sound design was created entirely at home. We recorded the voice-over and composed the music using synthesizers, exploring futuristic textures and suspenseful atmospheres that follow the emotional journey of the character. The process was creative, playful, and deeply collaborative. I work alongside family, friends, and members of my community and church, understanding each project as a collective act of purpose and service. My goal is to create meaningful work that invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and reconsider their perspective,
The Scripture passage chosen for this work, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7), speaks directly to the human experience of being overwhelmed by fear, pressure, and emotional weight. It invites surrender rather than self-destruction, reminding us that anxiety does not have to be carried alone.
This message is deeply connected to the short film, which portrays a young man standing at the edge of collapse, burdened by the pressures of life and trapped in silent despair. His struggle reflects the reality of many people who feel isolated in their pain, believing that their situation is beyond repair. In this state, perspective narrows and hope feels distant.
The turning point of the story mirrors the heart of the Scripture. When the voice of God enters the narrative, it interrupts the cycle of fear and invites trust. The character is reminded of his worth and called to release his burdens. This moment visually embodies the act of casting anxiety onto God, not as an escape from reality, but as a return to clarity, presence, and life.
The film does not suggest that problems instantly disappear. Instead, it reflects the biblical truth that peace comes from knowing we are cared for. By aligning the narrative with this Scripture, the artwork emphasizes that even in moments of deepest darkness, God remains attentive, compassionate, and near. His care becomes the foundation for hope, restoration, and the courage to keep going.
