War in the Invisible World

When someone hears the phrase, "The Amour of God", the first thing that comes to mind is a man suited in armour fighting in war. I wanted my artwork to be different from that first thought. Pray had to be
present, because that's how we converse with God. Next, I wanted to portray the devil as something unusual so that it's not the first thing that comes to mind. So I thought, when the devil comes to tempt us he never shows up as something bad, because we'll obviously runaway. He presents himself as something kind, beautiful but all those are lies to lure us into his grasp. After all that thinking the first thing that popped into my head was an anglerfish. An anglerfish acts the same way the devil does. It's an ugly creature that lives in the midnight zone of the ocean and anyone would run from if encountered face-to-face. It uses a kind, beautiful light to attract poor unfortunate creatures and gobbles them up then goes in search of another.

The anglerfish signifies Satan our adversary. The light signifies the Amour of God that surrounds us when we pray. The pitch darkness signifies how alone we feel when faced with temptation.

The light is what that illuminates the darkness and keeps us safe. I choose bubbles of light because the Amour of God is not physical. It feels to me that it's a light that chases the darkness away.
