Artist Statement

This is the final track on an album that I wrote where every track mirrors the arc of Scripture, starting in Genesis with the fall of man to the beauty of creation and eventually Jesus' arrival on the scene leading to our ultimate victory over death and God's promise of restoration and a new Heaven and Earth with no more tears, night or sorrow.

The music style is what a lot of composers call epic-orchestral, similar to Hans Zimmer and a lot of video game music, and I wrote and orchestrated everything over the period of a few months. It's a combination of orchestral instruments (strings, brass, choir) with synthesizers and drums.

How it fits into contest

This is an orchestral track that serves as the final track on an album that mirrors the arc of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The track is named for the verse Revelation 22:5 “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.” This is meant to evoke the full picture that after God defeats death (the song that comes before it on the album is called “Its Rider was Named Death”) that Christians will receive everlasting life, the quality of which will have no more night or sorrow.
