I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. My painting journey really took off about ten years ago when I was a high school student struggling with depression. I began painting as a way to express the darkness and the light, and I began to learn that I could invite God into my process - and even let him guide me! I began to ask God to speak to me through images and I have been painting with him ever since. I believe that God creates all of us with a hunger to know him and his voice, and that he knows how best to speak to each one of us. For me, it’s through visual art.
I live with my husband in Boise, Idaho, where I work from home as an artist, art teacher, and therapeutic art coach. I’m especially passionate about helping people use art to work through their own darkness. Together with my husband, we founded ProjectGrief.Org, a school that teaches anyone (even absolute beginners) how to use art as a tool in their grief recovery following the loss of a loved one.
