ARTIST PROFILE
The work of Robert Frank, particularly The Americans, ignited my artistic path in my mid-twenties. I was deeply influenced by the 'New York School' street photographers of the 1950s, drawn to their ability to capture unscripted moments where formal composition intersected with chance, revealing profound meaning in the everyday. This early fascination with immediacy and the creation of cohesive narratives from disparate observations remains the foundation of my practice. My recent work expands upon this through multi-image compositions and mixed-media collages. While my aesthetic has evolved into a more layered, abstract language, the underlying impulse remains: exploring themes of irony, Christian concepts of suffering, justice, and sacrifice, and the nuances of contemporary culture. Photography remains my central vehicle for inquiry—a medium capable of both documenting the external world and manifesting the internal psychological landscape.
