Bio

Julie Marcelia is a painter/musician living in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. Ever a pursuer of knowledge, her art education has been intense and far reaching. Her background and degrees in music now serve as a springboard for her painting practice. Using the figure paired with an abstract or unusual environment, many of her paintings explore the visual expression of sound as well as silence, the spiritual and psychological. Primarily in acrylics, her work appears regularly in exhibits around the Pacific Northwest, has been featured in publications, and is known for its complex textures, elegant palette, and thought provoking images.
