Bio

Began painting at the tender age of four. I never had any formal training. In the late sixties, my father was the one who bought me a paint set. Once he placed it down in front of me, I picked up the paintbrush and scribbled all over the canvas. Ever since that day, I have been painting. All my life, I have taken art courses in school, but never really needed help, because I was self-taught. Taking art classes in school was always just icing on the cake. Sold my first painting, which was a remake of the Crying Child at age eighteen. Work in several different mediums such as oil, acrylic, ink, pastel, black pencil, colored pencil and charcoal. Various works of art and subject matter are created such as portraits, landscapes, seascapes, spirituals and abstracts. My art business started at the age of twenty-three under the name A Gift From Heaven (Art For the Spirit And Soul). It wasn't until 2010 that I renamed it Colours Of My Soul. I saw it to be essential to use a foreign spelling for the business name so that I would stand out and bring my own special uniqueness to the art world. The new name gives my art business its soulfulness and expresses the deep emotions, and thoughts, ideas and imagination that I often feel. Visions and deep vivid colors constantly invade my mind, taking me to another world, another galaxy. In that world there is peace and beauty where nobody is allowed to enter but me. It's where my creativity is at its highest height. Every work of art is created with a steady hand and great patience. My mission is always to encourage, motivate, and inspire people from all walks of life to dream big, enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the world through art. My artwork depicts my strong, rigid, and audacious spirit that causes me to soar like an eagle. Finally, I want people to know that my artwork will always be soulful, thought-provoking and respectful for the entire family to enjoy.
