Bio

Being an Artist is not what I do, but who I am and how I approach life. Every new situation demands a creative approach for the best resolution, and that comes from an unbridled imagination. Albert Einstein said, “I am enough of an artist to draw freely from the imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” I have found that is true!! Everything that is done or made INITIALLY begins in the imagination of the person who does or creates. education teaches how humanity resolved life issues historically – imagination reveals our future! I grew up in the Chicago area, and since childhood I created art to express my thoughts and emotions. Each piece is a Visual Reflection of my Spiritual Journey, images I see in my dreams or during quiet times of meditation and prayer. I distill these visions into a cohesive image that represents the eternal and spiritual aspects of life; using abstract symbolism combined with earthly and cosmic elements. After earning my Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from Illinois State University in 1981, I lived in Illinois and then Wisconsin until the economic collapse in 2008. In 2010 I made an extreme move to Colorado, to start my life over again. Previously, I was working as a commercial artist, web designer, illustrator, videographer and photographer to fulfill my creative impulses. In 2014 I returned to painting and drawing with renewed inspiration and enthusiasm. In Colorado I joined the lively art scene and was a member of the Left Hand Artist Group and the KCP Art Gallery in Longmont. I taught beginning drawing and painting; performed live art at spiritual events, street fairs, music and art festivals, interactive art shows, and other community events throughout Boulder County, and Larimer County, Colorado. Since moving to Florida in 2018, I’ve become a member of the Florida Women’s Art Association, The Artists Workshop in New Smyrna Beach, Art League of Daytona Beach, St. Augustine Art Association and Galerie Elan in Daytona Beach. I have shown in many art festivals, community events, and other venues and galleries in Volusia County and Orange County. My most exciting solo exhibition to date was the retrospective exhibition, “Visionary Realms” in June 2025. It featured 35 paintings spanning 11 years of work and was held at the Galerie Elan in Daytona Beach. “Visionary Realms” was first exhibited in Florida during November 2022. It featured 18 paintings and was held in the Founders Gallery at the HUB on Canal, in New Smyrna Beach. The original “Visionary Realms” exhibition was first shown with 8 paintings, in Boulder County in October 2017. “Visionary Realms” is scheduled to be exhibited at the Art League of Daytona Beach from August 30-September 25, 2026
