I strive to create authentically and freely, without respect for musical boundaries or topical restraints. I don’t make what I think others want to hear; I create from my soul—songs shaped by who I am, who I love, where I’m from, where I am, and what I believe.

Inspired by Daniel 2:31–45, this song aims to encourage believers to contextualize America, and every earthly kingdom, appropriately as temporal powers that fall (gold, bronze, silver, clay), recognizing that God’s kingdom is the one that endures forever and is worthy of our allegiance.

“Of thee I sing..”

Not pointing to any other people or kingdom on earth as the standard, but to be clear - America is not God’s (YHWH) chosen, exceptionally righteous, set apart, elect, etc - it is a wicked one to be listed amongst those that will fall. More the great “mystery” Babylon and historical Rome than Israel, and/or New Testament church.

This is not a new concept being pushed out of liberal, “WOKE!” culture, but one that always was. Like the people who warred over it and framed its foundation - America was born in sin. Voices have cried out testifying of its fallen nature for hundreds of years - the abolitionist rendition of “My Country Tis of Thee” used as the intro for “GBA” is a microcosm; a voice in the chorale.

While there are good things enjoyed as a result of its existence, It is not a savior - it needs one. It is a mission field, not a sanctuary or spiritual home.

In the end, America will be as iron, clay, gold, silver and bronze - dead and gone. Thankfully for we the people - there is a savior, who established a Kingdom. We look to Jesus and pledge allegiance to his Kingdom.
