"LaRone Alexander is a 3D Mixed Media and Prophetic artist whose work merges material experimentation with spiritual narrative. Based in Bluefield, VA, he creates dynamic compositions that layer painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and found objects. His practice transforms everyday materials into multidimensional works that carry depth, texture, and physical presence, while simultaneously engaging themes of revelation, meditation, and transcendence. Born in South Carolina and raised in New Jersey, Ron demonstrated a natural gift for drawing at the age of eight. Following a 14-year hiatus, he returned to the studio in 2009 and has since dedicated over 16 years to developing a distinctive artistic language rooted in both material exploration and spiritual symbolism. His approach often balances structure and spontaneity, allowing narratives to emerge organically through process and texture. By integrating sculptural techniques with prophetic expression, Ron’s work extends beyond visual impact to invite reflection, dialogue, and an embodied encounter with the intersection of art and faith."

Artist Statement

You Must Prophesy Again – Revelation 10:11 (48 × 36) is a prophetic 3D mixed media work layered with scripture, symbolism, historical imagery, and revelation drawn from the Word of God. This piece was created as more than a visual composition—it is an invitation into a spiritual encounter. Through dimensional depth, texture, and material presence, the work moves beyond the flat surface of the canvas to engage the viewer in a living narrative of faith.

My creative process is rooted in the belief that art can be created in collaboration with God. By combining painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and found objects, I transform everyday materials into a multidimensional language that carries spiritual meaning. Gears, clocks, masks, flowers, and archival imagery function as symbolic markers of time, history, and transformation. What may first appear as fragments and collages of past events gradually reveal a deeper truth: our "history" becomes "His story" unfolding within us.

This work is informed by Revelation 19:10—“the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Scripture is embedded throughout the piece, not merely as text, but as structure, rhythm, and revelation. The layering process balances structure and spontaneity, allowing meaning to emerge organically through texture, material tension, and prayerful intention.

"You Must Prophesy Again" reflects a call to speak, see, and bear witness to the truth. Jesus Christ is the Truth... the Word of God made flesh and as "He is, so are we becoming Christ word made flesh - "Living epistle read of all men" 2 Corinthians 3:2-3. It invites reflection, meditation, and transcendence, encouraging viewers to engage not only with the artwork itself, but with the living reality of Jesus Christ and the prophetic voice still active in the world today through us.

How it fits into contest

“You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.” (Revelation 10:11) serves as both the foundation and the commission of this work. This scripture speaks to the ongoing responsibility of bearing witness—to see history or "His Story" through God’s redemptive purpose and to speak what He is still revealing. Every piece is intentional and placed by scriptural meaning. The artwork becomes a visual response to that call.

The blood marks woven throughout the piece reflect Ephesians 1:7, symbolizing redemption through Christ’s sacrifice. They are not marks of despair, but of freedom, reminding the viewer that forgiveness and restoration are purchased through His blood. The crown of thorns imagery draws from John 19:5, pointing to Christ’s suffering and kingship—power revealed through humility and obedience.

The eye-like forms embedded in the earth reference Psalm 17:8, “Keep me as the apple of Your eye,” suggesting that creation itself sees, groans, and watches for redemption. Gears, clocks, and mechanical elements symbolize time and labor, echoing Romans 8:22–23, where all creation groans in anticipation of renewal. Time is not random here; it is moving toward restoration.

The mask represents the tension between revelation and concealment—what is seen versus what is hidden—while sunflowers emerge as symbols of hope, resurrection, and orientation toward the light of Christ. The key held within the composition reflects Matthew 16:19, authority entrusted by Christ to bind and loose, to open what has been sealed.

Together, these elements testify to Revelation 19:10: “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” This work visually declares that prophecy is not confined to words alone, but is revealed through testimony, sacrifice, time, and the living story of redemption still unfolding.
