Title

2 Kings 6:17; "O Lord, please open his eyes"

Artist Statement

This artwork is painted on a 16x20 canvas. The inspiration for it comes from the book of 2 Kings in the Bible, when the king of Syria sent his army after Elisha. Elisha and his servant were surrounded and so, his servant began to worry. Elisha prayed for him, that his eyes would be opened, and he saw the angel armies of heaven.

How it fits into contest

This is an example of spiritual warfare as described in the Bible. Elisha obviously had his spiritual eyes open, and he had faith that no matter what the threat was, that the Lord God was there to protect, guide, and do his warfare for him.
Since Elisha prayed that his servant's eyes would be opened as well as his, I see that God's calling is for us to also be awake , watchful, and tuned in to what Holy Spirit is doing.
