Many times we all face challenges. More often we hear about depression, danger, emptiness, and division. As a mother of two I worry about the world that my kids are living in. I want the best for them. I want it for everyone but the truth is that the best can only be found in Jesus Christ. Peace, love, joy and protection are under the wings of our creator if we put our complete trust in Him.
Emily Dickson's poem, "Tell the Truth but Tell it Slant", makes me think about the importance of telling the truth with love, with grace, or even if possible as a parable like Jesus did many times while his time on earth.
My personal approach to tell the truth slant referring to my painting is this:
The truth: The best can just be found in Jesus Christ.
He is our rescuer and our restorer. the one who loves us unconditionally and is always there for us. With him we are safe. He gives us a life with a purpose so we can dream the impossible.
Tell it slant: In this painting a little boy sleeps peacefully. He dreams with mountains and elephants that walk around his soft cotton pillow. And the darkness...well, it does not bother him. Jesus will take care of that.

psalm 91:4 (NIV) "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Luke 13:34 (NIV)" O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets... how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing!"(Jesus words).
These verses are metaphors of God's deep love and care for us. He wants to nourish us, he wants to protect us from life's dangers, but we need to be willing and trust in him.
Depression, anxiety, health issues and any kind of problems we can give to him. He will take care of you. He will restore you. He will show you the way, He will supply your needs. He will watch over you. He will talk to you. He will heal you. He will give you a purpose. He will be there.
Truth behind the painting: In my art work we see a little boy who during covid 19 had asthma. His mama was really scared and stared suffering palpitations in her heart due to anxiety. She was scared that such disease would affect her kids sensitive lungs. However, this mother was very smart. She called upon de Lord and gave him all her worries. That trust brought her healing and when her little boy got covid, it did not affect him much.
God also inspired her to paint this painting as re reminder of his faithfulness and love.
Now, any time that that mom ( me) feces a challenge, she willingly goes under God's wings because she knows that there is the right place to be.
