I was inspired by the verse in Ezekiel 36:26. I sketched some ideas: the rock hard heart, the chain, a hand unlocking the hard heart and allowing life to pour out of it, and a dove descending into the inner life within. I attached a key to the painting, showing that the unlocking takes the action of putting the key into the lock. I added veins to the molten flow to indicate life.

Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. My painting visually pictures God the Father as the initiator of a changed heart and the Holy Spirit coming in to effect the change. As I pray for those I love who have hardened their hearts against the Lord, only God can unlock their hardened hearts, release the chains that bind them, and give them new life.
