Artist Statement

I created this piece of art for the Ars Sacra Festival in Hungary in 2023. It was on display at Budapest's St. Stephen's Basilica.
It measures 100 by 150 cm. The Basilica's dome hall's ancient brick walls served as a hallowed exhibition space. I'm really thankful to God for providing me with this chance.

When we approach Jesus in humility, I wanted to demonstrate the light we can get via Him. I have depicted Jesus' face as it appears in water drops on stones. Water and light combine to form the water, and the hand's colors come to life. When I created this artwork for me, it was challenging to paint the face of Jesus, as I wanted to depict Him as encouraging the viewer to come close and not be afraid. I prayed to help me form His face. I was really surprised when I painted His eyes and looked into them.

The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors from various nations, and I have many touching recollections of witnessing individuals respond to the calling from this painting. May God's grace reach all of us and open our hearts to accept this precious gift.

How it fits into contest

I think that Jesus is the source and the core of our faith because without Him, we become weary when we face difficulties and encounter unpleasant or impolite behavior in return for our assistance and affection. To stay on the right track, human strength is insufficient. However, we never run out of the power of Jesus to love our neighbor if we keep our attention on Him and ask Him to give us strength via the power of His Holy Spirit.
