This video focuses on the spoken word which is reflected in the writing shown on screen. The background is red, which represents the Blood of Christ. I believe that words hold weight and are extremely important. Therefore, I wanted this video to focus on the message and highlight the importance and struggle of the Christian Life and how we must be dependent on God as believers, if we are to make it through.
It fits into my commentary on the Christian Life. I try to make being a believer something that is real and relatable to everyone. I highlight the struggles we face, underline the hope that we find in Christ, and illustrate the success that we have when we put our trust in God. It's not always easy, but in the end, we know we'll win because of Him.
This content of this piece features quotations from various 'related verses' although it does not quote directly from Ephesians. It has been extrapolated and broken down, so that it presents a description of the Christian Life: who we fight, why we fight, and how we win. The Bible verses are seamlessly interwoven to provide support to the message, while simultaneously providing a picture of how life is as a believer.

Human beings have been carried away
By the current of current events
And current trends
Drowning in new fads
And new waves
New styles
And new apps
Just a plethora of newness
From the time we arrive
And are introduced to terra firma
And we are cultured
To affirm
Our sense of self
By these senseless
Lengths of measurement
Looking for meaning
In meaningless actions
And words
But that’s what we are fed
From birth
So we don’t question the flow
Just submit ourselves
And go
Straight through the wide gate
And broad is the way
That leads to destruction
So there’s no objection
Because in the fulfilment of
The status quo
We watch the darkness grow
Ignorant of what is true
And we eye the few
Who walked through
The narrow gate
With smiles on our faces
As they struggle on the difficult way
That takes them to life.
And then some of us
Finally see the Light
Finally manage to open our eyes
Answering a call
That is put forth to all
But that only a few answer
Waking up
And taking up the challenge
To swim against the tide
And in that instance
We immediately engage in
Battle (n.): a sustained fight between large organized armed forces.
In that time
We must remember who our Source is
Because We know that we are children of God,
and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.
One who has no problem
Targeting our weaknesses
Using us as target practice
We can’t afford to be ignorant
Of his tactics
He creeps in when we are spent;
At our lowest point
Gets comfortable in our pain
And when our faith starts to wane
He introduces us to doubt, anxiety and fear
Blinding us with despair
Teasing us with the temptation
To abandon our salvation
But sometimes he slinks in
As the only viable solution
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of
Righteousness…
They already know their assignment
They’re on the offense
So don’t look for them
To only be offensive
Their portfolio is extensive
And sometimes we forget
That our enemy
Has several faces
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood
But against principalities, against powers,
Against the rulers of darkness of this age,
Against spiritual host of wickedness
In the heavenly places.
And they’ve been waiting for years
To take us down
We can’t afford to be
Lulled into a sense of boredom
We must be sober-minded; be vigilant
Ready to always
Battle (v.): fight or struggle tenaciously to achieve or resist something.
The One who has called us
Has not left us defenceless
Let us not continue to weep on
We have weapons
And must know how to use them
Training everyday to withstand
Coordinated attacks
Like being stabbed in the back
Or experiencing lack
Or when situations try to hijack
Our joy and sanity
Look at Job;
He was stripped down
To the bare bones
Of what made him human
But his faith in his God allowed him to stand.
At times we may feel like
The fight is uneven
But we have angels at our disposal
So whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven,
And whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
In addition, we have an entire armor
That allows us to fight this war
Truth and righteousness and faith
Coupled with the ability to wait
On the Captain of the hosts
Who leaves nothing to chance
But coordinates us through
His Holy Ghost
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Not exactly what we pictured
When we were called to be saints
And if we follow the example of Christ
Listen to His Word
And keep our sword constantly
At our side
The enemy has no choice but to flee
Because although he comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
Christ came that we may have life and have it abundantly.
So through knowledge, prayer and faith
We will overcome
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world
We will battle sin until He comes
Then we will be able to hear Him say
Well done,
My good and faithful servant
Well done.
