This cotton wall hanging shows two ravens bring food to Elijah in the desert. His garment is colorful as is the border. There are several 3-D elements. Buttons are used for the food and yarn is for the prophet's hair. Words are spelled out with Scrabble tiles.
After prayer, I choose colors that have the feeling of the Scripture passage. Texture is important to the work, so I use found objects to enhance the meaning.
I Kings 17: 2-6
This passage tells how Elijah was fed by the ravens provided by the Lord and how he hid across the Jordan as God had told him. This passage tells of how God protects and provides for us if we do what He tells us. God is faithful. Elijah "... did what the Lord had told him."
