Title: Am Covered
Size: 80 cm X 40 cm
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas
A surrealistic painting done with a single image of human figure right in the middle of the canvas. Going by the title of the painting, the figure is covered with an umbrella with a handle protruding towards the left hand side of the canvas which connotes a strong connection among the image and the umbrella. A whitish flowers was painted to flow upwards from the umbrella as against the red background. We wrestle against principalities, power and rulers of the darkness of the world. Ephesian 6: 12. The red colour in the background of the painting symbolises human existence through blood. As Christians most time say "Am Covered with the blood of Jesus". The light colour patches on the umbrella, the foreground and flowers was painted to mean strength and power we enjoyed from the protection God's word.
The colour painting was carried out with the intention of capturing some biblical references of the theme. Ephesian 6: 11, 12, 13 and 17 are of major inspiration to the artist. Put on the whole armor of God that we may withstand in the evil day, verse 17 said we should take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.
Dr. Leon Salako, for his apparent discussion before, during and after the finishing stage of the artwork.

I normally use motifs and patterns for the creation of my paintings. I also make portraitures with inclusion of motifs and patterns on the background and the clothes of the images. All my paintings are done in the studio apart from outdoor painting that I normally do for schools, homes and private companies.
