My paintings are created as a collaboration with the Creator. His power, life, and light move through my faith, imagination, and skill, becoming visible in each brushstroke. Art-making, for me, is not simply an act of expression, but an act of relationship—one rooted in trust, listening, and response.
There is something deeply transcendent in the creative process. Each painting begins with surrender: I release my own plans and expectations, offering my thoughts and will to God and allowing creative energy to flow through me. In this space of openness, I discover my most authentic voice as an artist. My intention is to share the beauty, mystery, and wisdom that emerge from this partnership, inviting viewers into a moment of reflection and spiritual awareness.
I work primarily with acrylic paint, which enables me to build luminous, translucent layers while remaining responsive to shifts in mood, movement, and direction. The painting develops through cycles of action and contemplation. I pour, brush, and draw lines across the surface, then pause to observe how colours, textures, and forms interact. Some marks are made with clear intention, while others are allowed to unfold organically. I welcome unpredictability, trusting that what emerges beyond my control often carries deeper meaning.
Colour plays a central role in my work. I am drawn to the dialogue between light and darkness, saturation and transparency, echoing spiritual and emotional tensions such as hope and struggle, fragility and resilience, silence and revelation. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, my paintings invite contemplation, prayer, and an openness to encounter God through visual experience.
Romans 8:38–39 is a powerful declaration of assurance and hope. It reminds us that nothing in all of creation—neither life nor death, neither our present circumstances nor what lies ahead—can separate us from the love of God revealed in Christ Jesus. This unshakable truth became the heart of my painting.
At the centre of the artwork is a glowing heart, representing God’s constant and unchanging love. It reflects the certainty that His love is always present, even when we struggle to feel it. Surrounding the heart is a subtle cross-shaped form, pointing to Christ, through whom God’s love was fully revealed. The cross reminds us that this love is not distant or conditional, but sacrificial, personal, and secure.
From this centre, light and colour radiate outward in every direction. These flowing layers symbolise how God’s love reaches beyond every boundary and into every part of our lives. His love moves through joy and sorrow, strength and weakness, certainty and doubt. Nothing is outside its reach.
The darker tones within the painting represent seasons of fear, pain, and uncertainty - times when hope feels fragile and faith is tested. Yet even in these areas, light continues to break through. This reflects the promise of Scripture: no depth is too deep and no power too strong to overcome God’s love. Even in our darkest moments, His presence remains.
I created this piece as a visual reminder that we are held by God in every season. It invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and rest in the truth that no matter what we face, nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
