Title

The Mighty Seraph

Artist Statement

This artwork is inspired by the description of the 6-winged angel, named seraph, in Isaiah 6. They appear very per full in worship to our God.
I first glazed the canvas with magenta and indian yellow paint. Then I used Golden yellow to sketch in the form of the angel and the wings. I used indanthrene blue and turquoise for the shading.
For the past 10 years, I have been creating spiritual art ftom the context of following Jesus Christ. Before that, I created many wall murals and Mediterranean scenes.

How it fits into contest

The Mighty angels are messengers described in the Bible, like flames of fire. They are powerful to protect God's children as they pray. Isaiah 6: "Above him stood the seraphim. Each had 6 wings.."
