Artist bio

DeShaun is a Chicago native, Us Army veteran. He has been drawing all of his life. DeShaun has graduated from the university of Chicago with a degree in communications, and has upheld a job at the veteran affairs for eight years. He is a single father of three beautiful children, and does his best to raise them to have their own inspirations and goals. He loves creating artwork that is child friendly, as well as relating to adult audiences. After all, parents need a break too. DeShaun has mastered paper art as well as electronic art, and looks forward to his continued growth.

Artist Statement

My artwork is power, strength, watchfulness and boldness. The strength of family and bond with the King of the Jungle and his Queen.

How it fits into contest

This piece symbolizes power. Lions in general are symbols of power and strength. So this piece shows how we should stand strong as lions in the word of the Lord. Lions don’t show fear, so as we we put on the armor of God we should be bold as lions to defend against spiritual wickedness.
