How often do we tend to think that praying is just what we do before we act and fight. However, thinking and praying about the theme and the biblical text, one of the things I came to the conclusion is that praying is also acting and fighting. Prayer is a weapon we cannot give up - through it we fight great battles, interceding for our brothers, crying out for mercy, discerning and fighting demons, reminding us of the promises, and clothing ourselves in the strength of His Spirit and wearing His armor. To pray is to act! In this artwork, I sought to represent that. Surrounded by demons, when praying, the human being enters an action-packed battlefield and is clothed with the weapons, grace, and truth he needs to win and persevere.
When we talk about Spiritual Warfare - prayer is one of the most precious weapons. My artwork was mostly based on Ephesians 6:18, where Paul says: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." I used to think that prayer was often just what we did before action, but after reflecting on this text I came to the conclusion that prayer is an essential part of Spiritual Warfare, and is part of the action itself. It is through prayer that we overcome our demons and receive the strength to persevere and keep fighting in faith with spiritual weapons.
