We've got two kinds of battles to overcome, inner and outer. This artwork tries to describe a symbolic scene of these two conflicts and also their influence in the larger world we live in.
As a guiding light, wisdom of scripture/Gospel lights up the scene and connects both forms of the main character.
Nature and especially the vegetation kingdom have always been a strong inspiration and wonder source in my art. In this piece the calm, and still trees, leaves and fruits serve as a balancing element in the composition. Their unbothered ever presence in the backstage of all the human/spiritual conflicts is also an indication of our minuscule scale against the endless kingdom that god has created.

This painting is actually consist of 3 canvases combined. First canvas on the left is demonstrating an inner war with character's own demons/shadows. The inner conflict to open up her heart to the truth. That's where the main character displayed reading the scripture and letting the light in.
She's wearing sneakers to emphasize both the contemporaneity of the topic and her youth.
Second canvas is at the far right where the main character has put on the armor of God, holding the Gospel instead of a sword as it is in the scripture: "And the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God".
"Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one" this line had a strong visual power for me and I decided to go with the literal image of it.
Third Canvas is in the middle where the greedy and authoritarian forces are enslaving the earth in a symbolic scene "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms"
