I named my paintings “Riddle Me This” in reference to puzzles where they are solved by
having an awareness to one’s surroundings, and to give an opportunity to the viewer to
meditate, focus, and perspective using these paintings as a visual guide.
The Images I paint are things I see on a day-to-day basis, a depiction of the feeling of life in
contemporary areas both rural and urban. I see tall buildings, long stretching roads, vast
expanses of untouched countryside, harbours filled with boats, empty derelict houses and
buildings, old imposing architecture, bright L.E.D. artificial lights, signposts, even the
occasional cracks and patterns of a floor.
It is a requirement for the viewer to move and contort there body while viewing my artwork to view the painting in its entirety, This brings a physical motion into the act of viewing a painting instead of having the image move for you, the viewer move for it.
When making my paintings I made them for the purpose of visual meditation where I can sit down relax clear my mind and just observe the object that I have painted and try and make out some of the shapes and colours as a type of method of visual meditation. Anyone else could sit down clear their minds of thoughts about deadlines, and various fast paced objectives I may be expected to fulfil or worries in these unprecedented times.
State Of Mind Philosophical Meaning Behind Colours Used.
A Dark that is dominant towards Blue = stoicism the endurance of pain or hardship without the display of feelings and without complaint.
A Dark that is dominant towards Red = Romanticism philosophical movement during the Age of Enlightenment which emphasizes emotional self-awareness.
A Dark that is dominant towards Green = Existential nihilism is the philosophical theory that life has no intrinsic meaning or value.

In this painting putting on the armor of god so you can take on the devil's schemes is about the viewer focusing, moving, and even contorting to make out what appear to be fully abstracted shapes are in actuality places and creatures. When the viewer over time gets used to this and becomes more observant it should protect the viewer from falling into a realm of assumptions and more into critical thought and taking time to think. Putting on the armor of god and standing you're ground when the day of evil arrives.
