Artist bio

Caroline East Harnish was born in Philadelphia, PA. Her father was a college professor and her mother was an artist who always gifted her with art supplies. Caroline lived in Europe for 22 years. She was street artist, and travelled thru Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. Her art was influenced by the German Romantic artists and the classic Italian scenery. Caroline also lived in Florida, where she was in the Sarasota Herald tribune, Sarasota magazine, & on local tv for painting murals in 19 Italian restaurants. Presently Caroline lives in South Carolina, where she displays artwork at the Universal cafe, and creates murals for churches.

Artist Statement

Creating art is my secret language; without boundaries, from my unseen homeland. It's purpose is to manifest the unseen truths,to render visible the eternal vision and the truths of the Kingdom of Heaven for the children of the future. Often, while creating, I set out to make a certain thing, and end up discovering something co.pletely different in the process. Art isn't meant to be entertainment for the wealth. It is co.munion for the soul and spirit.

How it fits into contest

Psalm 127:3. Behold, children area heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, are the children of one's youth.
I depicted the babies in a state of wonder and amazement at their very existence. The birth of new life in a child is created in the heart of God.
