Basically, what you see in this potrait it's what's been going on here in ZA/around the world, particularly in Africa, for a long time, and it's still going on. The disparities between poor people and so-called powerful folks, such as politicians and businessmen , are depicted in this work. Individuals lying on the ground are the ones who are mostly affected by whatever these people agree on behind closed doors, and we are just affected/see the effects of what has been discussed and agreed upon.
Today, we have many problems that are harming our environment/planet that we live on, and these politicians/or individuals in positions of power are aware of what is going on and what is happening, or are even the cause of it in some instances.
primarily this portrait speaks to scientists, politicians, businesspeople, and so forth. Also, knowing that words can be quite successful in one way or another, it astounds me how someone can use words to claim or violently take/steal something from an individual or group merely by granting words authority to act.
South Africa is famed for its abundant riches, yet its people are suffering as a result of selfishness . What good does it do you to "find" something that has already been found? Then you make individuals who were are suppose to benefit suffer?
In a nutshell, this painting raises questions about the worth of a human being while also laying out the outcomes of past and present events.
''For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms''.
