This song is a humorous look at my life during the holidays in my rural, coastal town of Awendaw, SC. Our family pet is a cat named Bleu who we fondly refer and call "Kitten" This was the third song I had ever written in my lifetime. The struggle of living in a rural community with teens at that time was real, and the cat was very young and into a lot of mischief. I love the fact that the candy cane represents Christ's birth, and tied the whole episode into the message of hope that Christ is there for us, and he was born to save us.
The Mother in the song has to put on Armour every day to help her children. She must calmly look at the situation and not quick to anger over simple issues. As she drives home from her trip to the store, her Armour of God combats the frustration growing inside, and leads her to see that the mission to the store was one to help emphasize the true meaning of Christmas.
Stefani Timmerman on vocals and instrumental.
