As an artist, I work hard to develop paintings that speak both to me and to others about the beauty that exists in our corrupt society. Part of my process before I begin painting is to read and research as much as I can about the specific topic I want to recreate on canvas from my own perspective. I do not merely want to capture the image with my brush; rather, with carful, colorful strokes, I want to give a new lease on life. I try with every finished work to breathe life into our reality, so that its designs, ideas, innovations, and lifestyles are displayed on my canvas. The challenge as with any recreated moment is to not sugarcoat the topic at hand, and instead capture it in all its sincerity.
