My art merges imagination and memory, drawing on the people from my pass experiences. This is my primary source of inspiration. From family gatherings to church events, I've always been interested in capturing facial expressions and gestures. This has led me to a nontraditional portrait style of rendering the form without their surroundings. I love to isolate the form in space. Revealing the character of my subjects. I work in a range of media, blending drawing, painting and design elements. My current series "Praise" is the culmination of my exploration, combining portraiture and spiritual worship. These portrait images evoke a lively time of self expression towards God. Faces spring to life off the canvas, immersed in details from their gestures. Each work is a world inhabited by my love for Christ. My aim is to create something to inspire and to generate curiosity for viewers of all ages.
