A Broken Plea (Monologue)

Artist Statement

This is an original monologue, written and performed by Danielle. This is the very first monologue I have ever written, and I wanted to express a very sincere and vulnerable moment that I had with God.

How it fits into contest

This monologue is a glimpse into my personal spiritual battle;

My depression is a battle within which I have been fully equipped (prayer, The Word, community, wise counsel), but still struggle to fight and win alone.

In addition to this, I realize that some of the struggles I have experienced are difficult situations that I have gotten myself into because of my own wrongdoing, and because I have not been using that protection that God has given me.

She struggles to relinquish her struggles to God, but also realizes that she must fight her way through this depression with God on her side.
