This painting represents a visual manifestation of the unseen but very real spiritual battle we as followers of Christ are constantly fighting in throughout this life. Being a Christian is much like being a warrior, as we fight spiritual battles every day.

In my painting my goal was to bring to life the metaphor of the armor of God and the spiritual battle in Ephesians. The “evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world” are shown to the right, and on the left is a strong Christian, a warrior of God, using God’s armor to stand firm in the faith. She wears the belt of truth, the body armor of God’s righteousness, the shoes of peace from the Good News, and the shield of faith which she has already used to block some fiery arrows of the devil. She is striking the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, into the ground, which in turn is forcing the evil to shrink back in submission to the power of our God.

I would like to thank God for giving me the creative mind and love for art with which I get the pleasure to create from. I would also like to thank my family. I would not be who I am today without them, no amount of words could describe how thankful I am for them.
