Artist bio

I have worked as a Recreational Therapist for the last 5 years at a psychiatric skilled nursing facility. I have a passion for photography in my leisure time. My spirituality plays a huge role in how I conduct my work and coping with the losses and stresses of working in a health care setting, especially during the pandemic. I also enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and riding horses.

Artist Statement

This photograph is of my american mustang with a reflection of the cross in his eye, symbolizing psalm 105:4- Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence.

How it fits into contest

As a prey animal, wild horses must always be on constant alert in order to survive, they keep vigilant watch just as we too are advised in Peter 5:8; Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. We must always be be prepared and keep God in our sight in order to repel the works of the devil.
