Artist Statement

A young lady struggles with depression and anxiety after losing her family. Due to her nightmares, she is taking medication regularly to fight the struggle. At the apex of her pain, she seeks a different way of fighting; the word of God. She allows the word of God to heal her mind and empower her to stand and fight in her battle.
The video is accompanied by a deeper scriptural monologue of her battle.

How it fits into contest

Six
It was the genesis of gentle beasts and creeping things
The birth of flawless man in the image of the heavenly King
Now, it is the portrait of man’s weaknesses and the devil’s schemes

Six
It is the expression of creation at the edge of perfection
The echo of goodness on the brink of restful cessation
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.”
There was morning, yet man’s morning was traded for mourning
His peace for a spiritual struggle with enemies who are fallen

Six
It is the number of wings on seraphim who stand before the King of kings
But what covering does man have in the war against forces in the heavenlies
His head to feet is at the mercy of the Prince of Peace
The Prince of Peace who hung naked upon the tree
His glory was made weak to cover man with the Armor of Trinity

Six
“Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out
‘Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?’ that is,
‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’ ”

Six
“Forsaken, so that God would accept you and me”
Now Man can stand without defeat
Clothed in the armour of deity; the helmet the first, the sword the sixth
Yes! Six.

Six pieces cast from his pierced skin when he made a public spectacle of principalities
From the mourning of perishing to the morning of resurrecting
War to Victory
Man’s imperfection was traded for God’s perfection
Six to seven, creation in Completion

Therefore, fight without doubting, pray without ceasing,
Pray in the Spirit
Stand firm until the Blasting of the victorious trumpet, announcing our mighty conquest
Seven
It is the sound heaven
