My choice as an artist is nature, especially seascapes and coastal life. I started painting a seascape for step one. Once the volcano was painted, I added the top flames and extended the volcano lava clouds down to the beach. I added the armored figure to explain the scripture. The cross is the good vs. volcano is the evil. and was added last with the rays of light.

I had a dream several years ago about this painting. It did not become a reality until I started working on my Engage Art piece. The cross and the light were added to the devastating destruction created by the eruption of the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii. With the magnitude of this destruction, we see the resilience of the human spirit. In a disaster, we see the love of God evidence and we are in full armor against evil.
