I am a charcoal artist with a penchant for portraiture.
My work is born of curiosity but finds its soul in the fires of adversity, much like the wood-turned-charcoal I use in the images I create. All art speaks, and I hope mine shares the message of hope in Christ. After all, it is his grace that inspires me and makes possible any gifts I may possess in order to communicate God's love to the world.
This piece of artwork has several meanings tied to the topic of Spiritual Battle and the Armor of God. First, the girl represents me and other Christians standing guard against the wiles of the devil. The face of Jesus behind the girl is a reminder that He is always with us and fights for us, never leaving us to battle alone. Second, having the Jesus behind the girl reminds us that Jesus is our armor. He is Salvation; He is Righteousness; He is Truth; He is or Peace; He is Faith; and He is the Word made flesh. The girl’s swords had the name Yeshua engraved on them to symbolize that she fights for the Lord.
My dad is the one who gave me the idea that Jesus is our armor. However, the piece of art is entirely my own imagination put on paper. I give glory to God, also, for blessing me with the gift of drawing and blessing me with the imagination to create my art.
